Japanese Rice Offering Cup Buddhist Altar Fitting Butsugu
This is a two-piece set of Japanese rice offering cups, Buppanki, made for use in a Buddhist altar. These cups are small and made of bronze metal. One has a metal insert (other is missing) to protect the cup from moisture.
The rice offered to Buddhist altars is called “Buppan”. In the Jodo Shinshu Otani sect, we use the term "Obuku".
