Vintage Japanese Handwoven Drying Basket
This is a traditional natural bamboo woven basket used for drying or draining water from various items such as tea leaves, seaweed, small vegetables like edamame pods, dyed cloth, etc. This large, shallow, handwoven zaru is bound together by bamboo strips. It has a square base and a round top rim. There are some black kanji characters printed on the sides.
