Vintage Japanese Tea Mat
This is a vintage Japanese fabric tea mat. It is smaller than a typical luncheon mat and is meant to decorate beneath a teacup or small tea set. It is "Genemon" brand and is a striking red and features dandelions (tanpopo) with an elaborate border. This item was previously used as a Buddhist kyozukue altar table cloth (uchishiki).

- Okay condition considering age. Red dye has bled onto the back side. Some incense ash residue. Incense odor. Needs a gentle wash. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos.
