Antique Japanese Makie Bento Box Lid Decoration
This is an antique lid of a bento box intended to be used as home decoration. It is made of wood lacquered black on the front side and red on the back. It features a gorgeous makie design on the front of a folding fan and temari ball along with leaves and ribbons. Maki-e is a decorative painting technique done by sprinkling gold powder onto wet lacquer before it hardens.
