Vintage Japanese Lacquered Wood Serving Tray

This is a large vintage Japanese lacquered wooden tray, or Obon, typically used for serving drinks and or snacks to guests in one's home, business, etc. This sizable, kamakurabori-style tray is rectangular and shallow. Simple designs carved into the wood, the lacquered over a rich reddish brown, this is an excellent example of classic kamakurabori work.
