Japanese Shinoware Ceramic Yunomi Teacup
This vintage Japanese Shinoware teacup is glazed an ivory white with trademark Shino orangeish brown accents. It features sharp bamboo leaves as a design. The surface texture is pocked, but smooth to the touch and easy to hold. This small cup is called yunomi or a smaller, more cylindrical cup made for serving and drinking sencha (standard looseleaf tea).
These cups are typically brought to guest in one's home, a business, or a restaurant on an obon tray.
