Vintage Japanese Lacquered Wood Serving Tray

This is a vintage Japanese lacquered wooden tray, or Obon, typically used for serving drinks and or snacks to guests in one's home, business, etc.
This rounded rectangular tray is coated with a glossy brown lacquer finish typical of shunkei-nuri lacquerware. The edges are slightly lifted to keep items from sliding off. Aside from usual purposes, this tray is ideal for displaying items on a tabletop such as a centerpiece.
