Antique Japanese Pottery Sake Bottle Kayoi-Tokkuri 

This is an antique Japanese ceramic sake bottle. It is called a Kayoi-Tokkuri and is used to pour sake. The commuting sake bottle became popular as a rental container for liquor stores in the Edo period when sake began to be consumed daily. This gray bottle has brown characters and a blue logomark. It has a string of straw around the neck.

  • Good condition considering age. Glaze imperfections and particles on the bottom from production.  Slightly wobbly. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos carefully.
