Vintage Silk Worm Farm Photograph
This is a vintage sepia-tone Showa-era photograph of a man standing in front of racks of cocooned silk worms ready for silk extraction. Silk is farmed by collecting the silk moth caterpillars and putting them on trays covered with mulberry leaves for them to feed on. They then make a cocoon which is then collected and processed.
