Vintage Japanese Wooden Small Plates
This item is a set of vintage Japanese small plates, also called meimeizara/kozara. Meimeizara are often used in Japanese tea ceremony for wagashi sweets, but can be used for other small desserts or dishes, or even as tea cup saucers (chataku) as they are large enough to hold a small spoon on the side. These plates are a very simple style with a matte brown finish and feature calligraphy kanji written in gold paint that depict five standout kanji (雪 snow, 月 moon, 風 wind, 花 flower, 夢 dream). It is a set of five.
