Vtg Japanese Wooden Lacquered Plate Set
This is a vintage Japanese set of five lacquered wooden small plates. They are round and a reddish-brown color (almost red) with no designs, but they do feature the subtle natural wood grain through the lacquer. Also called meimeizara, these Hida Shunkei-nuri plates are used during tea ceremony when serving wagashi. They come in a paper box.
