Japanese Hina Doll Furniture Long Chest
This is a Japanese vintage Hina doll furniture piece called nagamochi (storage trunk). It is larger than most pieces of its kind and painted in black lacquer with gold makie designs of peony flowers and vines. There is an orange braided silk cord with tassels. Thin metal pieces are used to decorate the front corners and edges as well. The small hardware is made of same material. It can be opened.
