Vintage Japanese Hina Doll Gold Folding Screen Byobu
This is a vintage folding panel (Byobu). This folding screen is a miniature one, usually used as a background for displaying Hina dolls during the Girl's Day Festival.
The front of this panel is covered with a gold paper that features a painted branch of pink plum blossoms (ume) on a hill overlooking a calm pond. It has a fabric border with a hishi rhombus pattern, and the back is simple gray paper with paper fans printed in silver. The edges are made of resin plastic and have metal embellishments on the corners.
While this item is made as a doll accessory, it is also a beautiful art piece that can be used for display on its own.
