Japanese Vintage Porcelain Sake Cup
This is a vintage Japanese porcelain sake cup. This particular type of cup is called wan or "bowl type" due to its more open diameter and resemblance to a rice bowl. In terms of size, it is also called guinomi. This white cup has a handpainted image of Daruma Daishi, a prominent figure in Zen Buddhism, sitting in meditation in a purple robe. There are gold accents, one looking like what might be incense as well as a flying insect. I has a faded gold rim.
