Japanese Porcelain Sake Bottle Tokkuri
This is a Japanese porcelain small sake bottle (tokkuri), used for Shinto shrines installed inside Japanese homes (kamidana). These small shrines are often found in traditional Japanese homes as well as martial arts dojos. Along with offerings of food and sake, these small shrines contain shintai, which are objects that allow the kami of choice housed in the shrine to form a bridge between worlds.
This particular small sake bottle, sans lid, is a glossy white color in a classic vase-like shape with no added detail or design. Shinto typically presents itself as simple and with nature.
