Japanese Buddhist Costume Sash
This Japanese Buddhist costume surplice (wagesa or hangesa) is worn around the neck. It is an interesting color - green shifting to red under the light - with golden crests, the name of a temple in white, and it has a purple and golden cord. There is a floral kamon (crest) at the back of the neck and 2 kamon on both sides close to the neck part. This particular sash is called kataginu and can be worn when appearing in front of the Buddha, and during services and ceremonies.
