Vintage Japanese Incense Burner Koro for Buddhist Altar Butsudan
This item is a vintage small metal incense burner (Koro) made for use as an altar fitting in a Japanese Buddhist altar. Painted a gold color, this type of burner is used for burning incense powder or sticks. The incense burner symbolizes purifying the body of the worshiper. It's decorated with Shishi/shisa/komainu (lion dog). The small pins holding the shishi and one of the decorative arms are missing.
