Vintage Japanese Wooden Noh Mask
This is a vintage Japanese pink and black painted wooden noh mask (noh-men). This character is the face of a jealous/angry female demon (hannya). Hannya is characterized by two pointed horns, an open mouth with sharp teeth, and round (often painted gold) eyes. It symbolizes jealousy and resentment and is applied to female characters when angry during a performance. This mask is unfinished. It can be used for all kinds of home and office decor.
