Vintage Japanese Ceramic Suiban for Ikebana Flower Arrangement

This is a vintage ceramic Japanese flower vase, or suiban. It is tan/beige color with a slight texture, but smooth. It is shaped like a traditional vase with a wide mouth, however inside is a permanent cup meant specifically to hold a weight or anchor for flower stems. The inside bottom is textured to prevent slipping as well as the inside rim of the cup to keep flower stems from shifting. At the very front of the side is the image of a kikyo flower (bellflower/balloon flower).
Suiban means "water tray" and typically houses the spiked weight (kenzan) that hold ikebana flower stems in place, but can also be used as a base for a flower pot, or even a potted bonsai.
