Vtg Japanese Lacquered Tray, Obon 

This is a vintage lacquered tray, Obon. The tray is painted with a gold flower crest and pine needles. A small flower-shaped mother-of-pearl work (abalone shell) is inlaid on the top of the tray. There are words on the bottom, Tokudo, Ansenji temple, and monk name (Tokudo is a ceremony to become a monk in Buddhism).
