Vintage Japanese Wooden Noh Mask
This is a small vintage Japanese wooden noh mask (noh-men). This character is the face of a man named Hyottoko. This character is a man with a twisted, puckered mouth off to one side and a scarf tied around his head. He is said to be a comical character and often paired with Okame which is the female equivalent. In many performances, Hyottoko plays the role of a clown. This mask has holes on the sides to faster a string for hanging. It can be used for all kinds of home and office decor.
