Antique Japanese Wooden Lidded Storage Box 

Wooden boxes are a common method of safely keeping and storing delicate pottery, vases, and other ceramic, clay, and glass items in Japan. In addition to pottery, they are also widely used for a plethora of other traditional Japanese crafts including kimono accessories, wrapping cloths, chopsticks, commemorative gifts, etc, and even food. 

This is an antique Japanese lidded wooden box. It is tall and long with a small slot on one side. The lid is carved on only one side.  This box was covered in paper at some point and a few panels remain. It is excellent for general storage, DIY, or decoration.
