Vintage Japanese Katagami of Tsubame Bird w/ Wooden Frame

In a simple wooden frame with a deep purple cord, this katagami textile stencil made of mulberry paper displays the image of a swooping tsubame bird (swallow) on a yellow-green background with gold flecks. This katagami has a mesh of silk backing.
While katagami is typically used for printing images on fabrics such as kimono, it has become a popular item to frame and or further decorate for wall art. As such, its intricate designs made by hand-cutting the paper make it an excellent piece to use in home and office decor.
The katagami is not adhered to the back.
