Vintage Japanese Wagasa Umbrella
Whether paired with a beautiful kimono or in the hands of an elegant Geisha, Japanese traditional umbrellas (wagasa) are a popular fashion accessory as well as an eye-catching home decor piece.
Featuring a large red rising sun, this wagasa parasol also makes use of yellow paper with abstract lines. The headpiece at the very top is red gingham and yellow vinyl fabric. The inner frame is dark brown and tied together with beige string. The handle is made of slender natural bamboo lacquered with black with white vinyl cord and metal cap. Closed, the outer ribs create a split beige and red color as well as crane and pine tree design accents in gold.
