Japanese Tea Ceremony Set Chabako
This is a Japanese vintage tea ceremony set, or chabako. Chabako is typically a wooden box used for storing and carrying a set of tea ceremony utensils. It contains a variety of essential tea ceremony items such as a green tea bowl and tea whisk. This particular chabako is unique in that it is in a simple wooden display case with a bamboo center post and glass doors. It is reminiscent of a traditional hondoko alcove's tokowaki (staggered shelves) and has undamaged shoji screen panels at the back. It has three shelves.
