Vintage Japanese Wagasa Umbrella
Whether paired with a beautiful kimono or in the hands of an elegant Geisha, Japanese traditional umbrellas (wagasa) are a popular fashion accessory as well as an eye-catching home decor piece.
Simple in design, this wagasa parasol is made with dark green paper. The headpiece at the very top is green and yellow vinyl fabric with a light brown cord. The inner frame is tied together with gold string and the outer ribs are lacquered with black with red tips. The handle is made of slender lacquered bamboo with white vinyl cord and metal cap.
