Vintage Japanese Paper Mache Noh Mask
This is a vintage Japanese paper mache noh mask (noh-men). This character is the face of a white fox (inari kitsune). Foxes are commonly associated with the shinto god Inari, who is the patron deity of rice and agriculture. Kitsune are seen as playful, yet wise spirits who bring good luck and protection. The mask is fully painted in white, black, and red with a golden inari flame symbol (housho no tama) on the forehead. It can be used for all kinds of home and office decor.
