Japanese Miniature Clay Onigawara Roof Tile
This is a miniature Japanese sculpted clay oni demon roof tile (kawara) decoration often found on temples and sometimes private residences. Also called onigawara, this ridge-end tile acts as an amulet to frighten off evil spirits and ward off misfortune and disaster. It appears to be a simple amulet/souvenir from Mt. Oe in Kyoto Prefecture.
