Vintage Japanese Lacquered Wood Bento

This is a vintage Japanese lacquered bento lunch box called jubako. It is three-tier and a caramel brown, true to the shunkei-nuri style of lacquerware.  The bottom box has a handle for easy carrying. While it can be used for small meals, it can also be used as a sweets container or kashiki for sencha and tea ceremonies. It comes with the original paper box.
