Japanese Katsuobushi Shaving Tool (plane)
A katsuobushi shaving tool for shaving hard and dry bonito sticks to make Bonito flakes. When the upper blade (plane) is used to shave the bonito sticks, the shaved flakes fit in the box. Until the 1960s, it was used in many ordinary households in Japan, but it disappeared as packaged products began to be sold.
