Vintage Japanese Hariko Zodiac Dog

This is a vintage dog sculpture made of paper mache (hariko). This dog is a cute classic example of traditional craftwork and excellent decoration. The body is white and black with red painted clothes featuring a red and pink flower, most likely a peony. It has bright blue eyes with a curled tail. There are seeds or beans inside so it rattles. This little dog also acts as an amulet for protection.
