Vintage Japanese Katagami of Amanohashidate Vista w/ Metal Frame

In a metal frame, this katagami textile stencil made from mulberry paper displays the image of Amanohashidate, a famous vista point in northern Kyoto Prefecture. It is largely a pine-covered sandbar that stretched from one side of Miyazu Bay to the other like a bridge. It is considered one of the "Three Views of Japan".
While katagami is typically used for printing images on fabrics such as kimono, it has become a popular item to frame and or further decorate for wall art. As such, its intricate designs made by hand-cutting the paper make it a gorgeous piece to use in home and office decor.
The katagami design is adhered to a cardstock back.
