This is a vintage Japanese ceramic pickling jar. This medium-sized lidded storage container with a brown-gray glaze and blue drip accents is made to ferment, pickle, and store pickled plums (umeboshi). This sturdy container is also an excellent choice for storing sugar for daily use or other toppings/spices.
