Japanese Pottery Sake Bottle Tokkuri
The ceramic sake bottle (Kayoi-Tokkuri) became popular as a rental container for liquor stores in the Edo period when sake began to be consumed on a daily basis. Sake shipped from the brewery is sent to each liquor store through the wholesaler, and each person goes to buy it with this sake bottle.
