Vtg Japanese Tea Ceremony Bowl Chawan 

This is a Japanese vintage green tea bowl, Matcha Chawan. The pottery uses a white glaze and has many small holes called Kobiki. Green tea bowls are not only for drinking tea these are also for appreciating tea bowls as works of art. These have various sizes and styles. Shallow bowls are used in summer which is for the tea to cool quickly, and deep bowls are used in winter to keep the tea hot for a longer time.
