 Vtg Japanese Ceramic Green Tea Bowl

This is a vintage Japanese ceramic green tea bowl, or matcha chawan. It is gray with thick white brush strokes on the inside edge and outside. It has a grainy texture. This bowl is signed with a stamped mark on the bottom. It is simple, sturdy, and easy to handle. This type of bowl is called wan-nari, which is a tea bowl resembling a soup or rice bowl.
Green tea bowls are traditionally used for preparing and drinking green tea during tea ceremonies but can be used in many scenes of modern everyday life.
