Vtg Japanese Ceramic Green Tea Bowl
This is a vintage Japanese ceramic green tea bowl, or matcha chawan. It is light clay brown with a singular green brush stroke on the inside edge and outside. It has a grainy texture. This bowl is signed with a stamped mark on the bottom. It is simple, sturdy, and easy to handle. This type of bowl is called a hira-gata natsu chawan, which is a flat-shaped bowl used for summer.
Green tea bowls are traditionally used for preparing and drinking green tea during tea ceremonies but can be used in many scenes of modern everyday life.
