Vtg Japanese Buddhist Altar Fitting Lacquer Offering Table
This is a vintage Japanese Buddhist altar fitting wooden offering table Maejyoku. It is coated with gold and black lacquer. The table top can be removed. In the case of memorial services, a piece of cloth called Uchishiki is inserted here. There are two types of offering tables Maejyoku and Uwajyoku. Maejoku is placed in front of the Shumidan. It is used for 3 Gusoku (candle stand, flower vase, and incense burner). Uwajoku is placed in front of Amidanyorai. It is used for a flower vase, a rice cup, and a kasha incense burner.
