This item is a vintage Japanese Buddhist altar fitting small metal incense burner (Koro). It is brown and decorated with a gold engraved foliage design. This incense burner has a cap with a hole in the shape of a heart or heart-shaped leaf. This type of burner is used for burning incense powder or sticks. The incense burner has the meaning of purifying the body of the worshiper.
