Japanese Buddhist Altar Fitting Lacquered Wood Offering Table
This is a vintage Japanese Buddhist offering table, Kyozukue with a drawer. Sturdy and solid, this classic, glossy lacquered table in black and gold is typically placed inside or in front of a Buddhist altar. The original usage is for reading sutras, but it is also used as a stand for placing an incense burner or Orin (singing bowl bell). The small drawer is used to store small items such as prayer beads and candles.
