This is a vintage Japanese Buddhist altar fitting, flower vase Kabin (Hanatate). It is offered on Buddhist altars for ancestors. A vase is one of the three essential tools (Sangusoku) that is necessary for any Buddhist sect. Sangusoku is a candlestick, an incense burner, and a vase.
