Japanese Wooden Spatula Rice Scoop
This is a vintage Japanese rice scoop or spatula (shamoji). It is a common household tool for scooping and fluffing rice as well as for spreading rice out for making sushi. It is brown and brushed with a clear lacquer coating. There is a removable paper tag on the handle.
