Japanese Bamboo Jizaikagi Hearth Hanger Hook Vtg Wood Irori Chagama JK858
Vintage Japanese Bamboo Hearth Hanger Jizaikagi
This is a Japanese vintage bamboo hearth kettle hook, Jizaikagi. Jizaikagi are used to hang the pot, or chagama, on the irori fireplace. This piece doesn't host the iconic fish-shaped decoration; instead, it has a natural piece of a tree branch that is attached to the main pole by a chain. The hook is made from metal and part of a longer pole that fits inside the bamboo. It can be extended up to 35cm, but a new chain will need to be added.
