Antique Japanese Koimari Porcelain Plate Sara
This is an antique Japanese porcelain side plate (Kozara). It has a blue Sometsuke picture of plum blossoms and little birds are drawn on it. Little distortion is seen in the plate. Because it was fired with firewood instead of gas or electricity as it is today, the temperature was not stable and easy to warp. There are goma (sesame spots) and dust marks in particular on the bottom. The marks of sesame and dust are the places where the ash fell when it was fired in the kiln.
