Antique Japanese Porcelain Plate 

This is a Japanese antique C1900s porcelain plate, Sara. This plate has a blue sometsuke pine tree, bamboo, and plum blossom (Shōchikubai) design in the center with a Japanese flag and cherry blossoms. These plants are considered very auspicious in Japan.

  • Hagashiato (rough Takadai): When the plate is taken out of the kiln, the bottom part of it may not be properly taken off and may appear to be chipped. This is a kind of kiln flaw (not damage)
  • Sesame (Goma) and dust marks: Sesame and dust marks are spots that fall ashes when fired in the kiln.

  • Good condition. Wear and tear due to age. Slightly has color unevenness in sometsuke. Some dust kiln marks on the top. Please see the photos carefully.
