Antique Japanese Porcelain Neck Rest

This is an antique Japanese neck rest. It is white and blue and features a cherry blossom (Sakura) and geometric pattern as well as Japanese characters on the top and an illustrations of a lion on both wide sides. It is made of porcelain and can be displayed as a collectible. 

A neck rest, or Takamakura, is a support stand for the neck designed to keep hair intact while sleeping or resting and was used by the Japanese traditional female entertainers, the Geisha, to preserve their outstanding hair.
