Vintage Japanese Wooden Storage Box for Small Bowls
Wooden boxes are a common method of safely keeping and storing delicate pottery, vases, and other ceramic, clay, and glass items in Japan. In addition to pottery, they are also widely used for a plethora of other traditional Japanese crafts including kimono accessories, wrapping cloths, chopsticks, commemorative gifts, etc.
This long, rectangular vintage wooden box with a lid is likely made to hold small bowls for rice or soup. It can also be used for general storage of trinkets or use for display or other crafts/projects. It has three similarly-sized compartments. It has slots on the bottom for a flat cord for tying.

- Good condition considering age. One side of bottom base is missing. Some scratches and discoloration. Sticker on one side. Adhesive residue on lid. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos carefully.
