Antique Japanese Sad Iron Charcoal
This is an antique Japanese sad iron. Made of sturdy iron metal, this old fashioned clothes iron is heated via hot coal placed inside. The iron opens on a hinge and a small removable grate is inside. It has a chimney pipe that is removable for cleaning with a vent at the back and a red-painted wooden handle. beneath the handle is a cherry blossom design.
