Vtg Japanese Lacquerware Hakoozen Storage Box and Tray
This is a vintage Japanese lacquered wooden dining ware storage and tray table or hakoozen. This square box, popular from the Edo period all the way through early Showa, was primarily to store an individual's dishes (bowls, cups, chopsticks, etc) as well as act an ozen tray table for eating off of when the tray is flipped around. Each family member would have had their own set.
