Japanese Pair Buddhist Altar Fitting Hanging Lantern Butsugu
This is a pair of vintage Japanese Buddhist brass hanging lanterns, or rinto, made to be hung in Buddhist altars (butsugu). These brass lanterns are gold in color and have minimal design detail. This set features a platform of small plates and chrysanthemum decorations. It is missing a small metal stick that keeps the top piece together. Rinto is a brass lantern used to light up the inside of a Buddhist altar with candles, and can sometimes be made electric. It is also a beautiful decorative item on its own.
